Hey friend,
It’s been a while. I didn’t intend to take this long of a break from Substack, but here we are almost two months since my last email. How are you? I’ve missed writing here and connecting with you.
Well, as you can tell by the foreboding title, things are shifting around here. First off, I want to thank you for supporting me here on Substack. As I’ve explored my writing voice and worked on building a list of readers and supporters, you’ve stuck around through the changes and remained faithful. It truly means the world to me.
Over the last month, I’ve been in a space of deep reflection and rest. The Lord called me to this place of breaking it all down to the roots and rediscovering what my purpose is with my online presence. During that time, I took a break from social media and from writing altogether. I still had my coaching calls for my internship and joined a collective through Called Creatives, but I took a bit of a sabbatical from creating. I truly feel that the Lord blessed this time, and he gave me very clear steps forward. Now that I’ve had time to process this and make some changes, I figured it was finally time to share them with you.
First, I’m moving my monthly newsletter and email marketing away from Substack. While this was a great space for my newsletter to grow and reach new readers, I no longer feel that this is the best platform for email marketing, especially with some other changes to my online presence. I’ll still write on here occasionally in the creative essay style that many of you enjoy, but all of my other updates/marketing will be elsewhere.
In order to respect you and your inbox, you will need to opt into my new email list if you would like to stay in touch. I’ll still be posting on social media often, but email is where I will share my more personal updates and information. When you subscribe you also will get a new resource I created called “7 Perspective Shifts for a Renewed Mindset” or you can opt in to receive my free devotional “Venturing on Rugged Trails: A 5 Day Devotional for Hard Seasons.” Either way, I hope you’ll continue to journey with me in a new space.
Second—and I’m actually terrified to share this—is that the Lord has made it clear to me that I’m supposed to begin to offer speaking as part of my online ministry. I’ll be offering three topics that are in line with what I currently write about online, and I’m hoping to kick this off in the spring/summer of next year. If you know of any women’s ministries looking for speakers, I would love to be considered to come speak! To receive more updates around this, you’ll want to subscribe to my new mailing list.
Third, while this isn’t a massively important update, I did want to let those of you who faithfully read my blog that I will no longer be posting regularly on my blog. As I begin to shift gears to speaking and focusing on building both an email list and my social media platforms, writing for my blog is something that will be less frequent. I do plan on posting there as ideas come to me and I think it will serve my audience well, but it will not be on a regular schedule. If you want to receive notifications when I do post on my blog, that’s just another reason to subscribe to my new email list ;)
Oh, and lastly, I have an updated and snazzy new website! Same domain name and similar messaging, but I thought it was time for an upgrade. My new website includes speaking engagement information, as well as only the best, most helpful blog posts from my previous website. It’s also given me the opportunity to really hone in on my messaging and how I can best serve my audience. Check it out and let me know what you think :)
If you’ve made it to this point in this post, thank you! It feels weird to be saying some of this out loud because it really wasn’t a shift I anticipated, but I know that God is leading me in a new direction and I’m only called to be obedient. I hope that I can better serve those who need to hear my message through these new opportunities, and I hope that you’ll continue to follow along and be encouraged.
Until next time, may God be with you on your journey between the pines.
Talk to you soon.
